Shouldice Hospital & the Venetian Banquet Hall Summer Wedding, Toronto

This love story started years ago and unfolded right before my eyes. Tatiana & Marco met in 2010, while they were both enrolled in a dual-degree MBA program at Vancouver Island University. However, the first encounter happened at the student recruitment event in Vladivostok, Russia, and that’s when I met both of them :). The couple started dating shortly after becoming best friends and study partners. Marco proposed to Tanya on his 30th birthday. She knew it was coming but didn’t know when and where, so it was a wonderful surprise. Marco’s birthday party turned into an engagement party in a split second.

“He said she was what missing.

She said instantly she knew.

She was a question to be answered.

And his answer was “I Do”.”

(Carrie Bradshaw, SATC)

Their July 11, 2015 wedding was grand with over 300 wedding guests who flew in from all over the world. Tanya & Marco opted for traditional wedding style with delicate white, Tiffany blue and the touches of pale pink as their main wedding colours.

There were so many gorgeous details that made the wedding day absolutely unforgettable. I fell in love with Tatiana's exquisite Ida Torez wedding gown and elegant Birks 1879 solitaire Canadian diamond engagement ring, which perfectly accentuated the bride's beauty. She looked like a gorgeous, fashionable and refined porcelain doll. The groom did not fall far behind: he looked sharp and classy in his single-breasted Pierre Carlos suit.

The traditional wedding ceremony took place at Saint George Antiochian Orthodox Christian Church in Richmond Hill, ON. It was such a breathtaking, overwhelmingly powerful yet calming experience after which newlyweds and the wedding party were on their way to the visually stunning grounds of Shouldice Hospital for formal portraiture. I am in absolute awe of the couple and wedding party portraits that we have captured there.

The well-known Venetian Banquet & Hospitality Centre accommodated the couple’s impressive wedding reception. Royal Orchid Florist made the place look even more elegant with their fresh and fluffy floral arrangements. Created by Just Temptations, five-tier white fondant cake with Tiffany blue orchids, white damask embossment and the couple’s initials was definitely an irresistible eye-catcher. Nonetheless, the most memorable part of the reception was a massive dance party! With so many culturally diverse wedding guests, the dance floor was meant to be busy, exciting and filled with positive energy, smiles and laughs. The improvised hora came as a surprise not only to me but also to Tanya & Marco. DJ Tony kindly allowed me to shoot the dances from one of his gigantic speakers, which definitely gave me a better perspective of the scale of the event and, let’s face it, a mild leg tremor by the end of the evening :).

This very special to my heart love celebration was truly spectacular. I hope the images that I’ve captured can convey all the love, passion and happiness that Tatiana & Marco and all of their dearest guests have felt that day.

Love,

-Eva.

Willow Springs Winery Summer Wedding, Stouffville

On July 4, 2015, I had a privilege to document a beautifully delicate wedding of Hilary & Kevin. Their story is not very typical, but it definitely reassures you that if it’s meant to be, it will be. Hilary & Kevin dated when they were just teenagers. Nonetheless, “youth is not a time of life; it is a state of mind” and back then neither Hilary nor Kevin truly realized how lucky they were to find each other that early in their lives. It took them years of separation to really appreciate the perfect gift that was sent from above – an eternal and unconditional love for each other. This time around the couple did not waste any time: they moved in together in September 2014, bought an adorable sweetheart of a dog in October (you can spot Rylie in some of the photos ;) ) and got engaged a month later.

“We moved together fast, but had already known each other and moving in together made us grow closer.” – Hilary

Hilary & Kevin are very radiant and kind souls, who love spending time with families, going to a cottage and being on the water (hence their picturesque and rather intimate outdoor wedding ceremony right in between a pond and some gorgeous vineyards). The couple’s favorite things inspired and formed their simple and light wedding style: country music, rustic details, natural textures, and pastel colours.

Wedding ceremony and reception took place at the charming Willow Springs Winery in Stouffville, Ontario. It was an afternoon sun-shining-bright-like-a-diamond ceremony, so we all got some nice tan and a healthy doze of vitamin D. There were so many personal touches in ceremony and reception details, starting from the ceremony floral arrangements carefully assembled and placed by groomsmen, bride’s and groom’s mothers, and finishing with the most adorable and thoughtful wedding favours – cute little jars filled with strawberry jam made by the bride. White hydrangeas, lilies and light pink rose petals definitely added some flair to beautiful natural surroundings. A three-tier pink rose and white baby’s breath adorned wedding cake proved once and for all that “simplicity is the ultimate sophistication”. The whole day was filled with warmth, joy, smiles and lots of delicious wine.

Love,

-Eva.
