Ancaster Mill Ontario Fall Wedding: Karine & Toralt

Dear readers, let me introduce to you the lovely Karine & Toralt. The wonderful couple from Quebec who got married in Ancaster Mill, Ontario on September 7, 2014. I was honoured to have been chosen to photograph their gorgeous wedding day. Red and white were primary colours of the event: from the bride's glossy burgundy shoes and beautiful red orchid bouquet to ceremony and reception venue decorations. This warm fall day was full of very moving moments and stunning details that brought oh so many tears to my busy eyes. Suffice it to remember: Karine & Toralt's tender thrill, the unity sand ceremony, Karine and her father's dance, hugs and laughs, her twirl, whirl and swirl with flower girls that made red roses on their adorable dresses come to life, absolutely magic waterfall backdrop for formal couple and family portraits, awesome guests jumping passionately and diligently to help me take that one perfect image of the party, delicate pure white cake with orchids and, of course, the ocean of love that enveloped us all on that very special day.

Pontypool Ontario Summer Wedding: Kate & Ryan

We all have dreams, passions and hopes, luckily we do. As a little girl I always wanted to attend as many weddings as possible, but the chances were against it: my family did not have a lot of relatives and my friends made sure to take their time before making the big decisions. Nonetheless, I did get lucky, once moved to Canada. The first wedding I have ever been to and, by a happy coincidence, photographed (just for pleasure and for fun back then) was my love's sister's special day on July 27, 2013. It was a lovely warm wedding that took place on a family estate - Brown's Farm, a family run market garden and potato farm located in Pontypool Ontario specializing in homegrown root vegetables, squash, pumpkins and gladiolus. It would be an understatement to say that there were a lot of DIY rustic details, pretty much everything was created, decorated, assembled and even grown with the family's caring hands. That very first wedding changed a lot in me. It took me a while to even realize that I wanted to become a photographer, let alone a wedding photographer. Sure, I always loved taking photographs, but to get enough nerve up to pursue the passion of mine was a different story. Despite everything, there is one wise thought that helped me back then and has been helping me since – "remembering that you are going to die is the best way I know to avoid the trap of thinking you have something to lose. You are already naked. There is no reason not to follow your heart.” (Steve Jobs ). So please, listen to your heart, fall in love, appreciate every second of this beautiful life, be happy and just be present.

Love,

Eva.
